Miami, Florida Bucket List

There are many possibilities to put on your Miami, Florida Bucket List. Here are our recommendations… If you want to head to the beach, the place to stay in Miami is South beach, where something is always happening! We opted to stay at the Marlin Hotel which was a great choice! But before heading to the beach, the first stop on our Miami Florida Bucket List was Little Havana. We started off with the Little Havana Food and Walking Tour in Miami by Miami Culinary Tours. You won’t be hungry for a week after this tour! It was a great introduction to Little Havana and some amazing Cuban food. If you return, we recommend Old’s Havana Cuban Bar and Cocina… order the appetizer sampler…delicious! And don’t forget to grab some mojito’s (you can also get these virgin). You have now been steeped in Cuban food and culture!

Next to check off on our Miami Florida bucket list was a full day of fun on the Triple Crown Tour: City, Everglades & Cruise . This was an all day adventure that started off with a walk around South Beach, past Versace’s mansion and then onto the grafiti-filled neighborhood of Wynwood Walls. The whole area was an outdoor art museum! While there, don’t forget to try Stefano Versace’s Gelato– best gelato in the world!

Still on the same luxury tour… the bus now takes you to the Everglades to visit the alligators in an open airboat! You go slow at first and then it speeds up coasting and twisting and turning over the water…so much fun ( I took dramamine prior and was fine!)! But that is not your only boat experience with this tour because after this you get to go on a luxury liner and sail by the mansions and islands of the rich and famous….Jennefer Lopez, Will Smith, Gloria Estefan, Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, Lebron James…and more. And did I mention the gorgeous sunset over the city?

The next day we stopped at the Perez Museum of Art in Miami. This museum has a great view of the bay. Step outside and get a photo!

Next, on our Miami Florida Bucket list, was a stop at Safari Edventures as we traveled south towards Key West. Here we had close encounters with a wolf, alligator, sloth, and snake! It was exciting and scary at the same time! We also stopped at an old Plymouth Congegational church (and saw gorgeous peacocks roaming about) on our way to see the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, but it was closed on the day we were there. Dang! We will have to go back, or maybe move there or something!

I hope you had fun checking off items on your Miami Florida Bucket list. Click here to visit our next destination on this trip: Key West! And see a short video of our experiences here!
