Wondering what to do in Columbus Ohio in winter? That was the challenge that lay before me when my family came to visit. Feel free to copy our itinerary if you find yourself looking for activities to do in Columbus Ohio in winter!

Immerse yourself in the Columbus Museum of Art

We had fun taking selfies and finding the masterpiece we most identified with.

Be blown away by all that “COSI” (Center of Science and Industry) offers.

There is an all-immersive water exhibit that makes you feel like you have entered another world through a dark cave. Then, go back in time to different decades in their recreated shops from back in the day. Next, interact with the live science experiments. Finally, explore the natural history exhibits and see a planetarium show! This place has it all!

For some amusing side trips, try out some selfies in Dublin…

… at the field of corn statues (my kids refused to get out of the car for a selfie here) or the two waterfalls – Indian Run Falls and Hayden Run Falls Park. These falls are near each other and not far from the fake giant cornfield. They are short walks for a big payoff.

Go early to a movie at Phoenix Theatres Lennox Town Center 24

…and while you are waiting for the start time, go around the corner to browse Bath and Bodyworks and BARNES & NOBLE Book Store. Then have lunch at CHAMPPS AMERICANA, BRAVO! CUCINA ITALIANA, or CORE EATERY IN the LENNOX TOWN CENTER.

Check out the Ohio History Village

…for a trip back to the 1800s.

The Columbus zoo and aquarium is also a fun winter stop.

There were fewer animals out in winter, but the fun lights and music made up for it! There are often winter discounts and deals.

Try dinner at a cozy place such as Buca di Beppo.

They serve family-style here, so it is all about togetherness and community. Don’t forget to sign up for their emails on their website to get a coupon and then pick up discounted gift cards from Costco or Sams club before you go!

Afterward, try Simply Rolled ice cream in Short North.

AMAZING GOOD! Time to go home now and get some hot cocoa and sit by your fire! You deserve it!

Now you know what to do in Columbus Ohio in Winter! Enjoy your travels!
