The Purple People Bridge

The Purple People Bridge and The Cincinnati Riverwalk, at Smale Riverfront Park, are must-stops on your visit to Cincinnati, Ohio. The Cincinnati Riverwalk (or Ohio River Trail), at Smale Riverfront Park, is 4 miles long (Cincinnati to Kentucky) and offers a lovely view of the Cincinnati skyline.

We visited the Purple People Bridge (i.e. The Newport Southbank Bridge) for a very special dog-friendly event. It is a pedestrian-only bridge that connects Newport, Kentucky to downtown Cincinnati. We met all kinds of great people and their pets. The Bridge is fun to walk across to put one foot in Ohio and the other in Kentucky. It is the longest connector of its kind in the country that links two states, and it’s only a 10-minute walk from one side to the other!

Address: 166 W Mehring Way, Cincinnati, OH 45202 to 425 York St, Newport, KY 41071
